B I O G R A P H Y

My name is Max Veth and I am a DJ. I was born in Amsterdam, but I live in Ibiza. For me music is everything, it creates happiness, memories and ambience. Music has always been a big part of my life. When my mum was pregnant of me she was listening to one of the best jazz artists ever. That’s right; Miles Davis! Only since a few months have I discovered and listened to him and I fell in love with his music instantly. Listening to one of his best albums ‘A Kind of Blue’ opened a new world for me and made me want to learn more about him and jazz music. I was intrigued by the documentary created about Miles Davis.

Watching documentaries about politics or nature didn’t really interest me. However music documentaries are something else. All these different kinds of artists trying to make a name for themselves inspired me and motivated me in continuing with what I love…DJing and creating music.

However, documentaries isn’t the only thing that made me discover new music. Thanks to my mum, I have learned a lot about music. She has showed me one of the best bands ever which has now become my favorite band; Pink Floyd. Their best album (IMHO), ‘Darkside of the Moon’ is a masterpiece. It is like a book you can’t skip a page to finish it otherwise you won’t know the full story. Not only has she shown me Pink Floyd, she also has shown me so many different genres like R&B, jazz, soul, disco, old pop and many more. Discovering house music, however, was all me.

When I moved to Ibiza in 2010, I always saw these billboards of big DJs playing in clubs like Pacha and it always caught my eye, but I was very young and was only paying attention to playing Mario on my Nintendo DS and playing with Lego, like every 6 year old does. When I moved back to Amsterdam, I had my first DJ masterclass. I was about 10 years old and loved it. I loved the feeling of standing behind the decks and imagining a big crowd in front of me, but I didn’t start DJing yet. It was because I also loved acting. My uncle does voice overs for commercials and always did these little skits with me when I was little, I loved doing that. I went to acting school for about 2 years, but when we decided to move back to Ibiza I had to leave the acting behind me. Eventually that was a good thing, because it wasn’t what I wanted to do in future so I started to focus on DJing particularly and music in general.

I got my first DJ set on my 14th birthday and I had no idea how to use it. Of course I figured the small things out on my own and I was starting to get the hang of mixing 2 songs together. It didn’t sound to great, yet… So my mum suggested to get DJ lessons. I have had the best teacher ever. He taught me how to mix, use effects and above all just to have fun. I had classes with him for about 6 months and I was making huge progress. I was really enjoying DJing and discovering new music every day. From that moment on I knew what I wanted. I aspire to become a DJ.

I’m not done yet. I plan to learn how to produce my own music and I am really excited. Hope you guys enjoy my music. I’m trying my best to put a smile on your face and bring the good vibes in your home.
